ᴅᴀʏ ᴀɴᴅ ɴɪɢʜᴛ is a 30 minutes piece about sleepless nights that descend like film around a person and isolates this person from the surrounding world. Sleepless nights leave behind a lonely figure, trapped in a timeless space between wakefulness and dreams.

In the sound art piece, one travels through a misty landscape where time stands still and simultaneously rushes through everything. The past, present, and future seem to intertwine like dense fog (sumu), easy to get lost in. Suddenly, one might unknowingly be heading in the wrong direction. The work has originated from a desire to explore one’s place in the chain of generations.

Sound art piece about the squirrel wheel of a family with kids. Pressures from the environment and society are intense during the hectic years of raising a family, and parents set high expectations for themselves in both work and family life. Even children’s days are increasingly scheduled to the minute, and the family’s shared free moments are rare. What if the expectations placed on families are simply too high, and one cannot meet them without exhaustion?

The daily life of a family with children in exceptional circumstances—what does it sound like? Can the sudden halt of the world provide space for something that wouldn’t otherwise come to the surface? The piece is a documentary project capturing the family life experienced in isolation from the rest of the world during the pandemic. The couple tries to find an opportunity in this new, surprising situation to explore their own personal (musical) identity and their relationship. Meanwhile, the everyday life of parenting toddlers continues at its unstoppable pace.
